Zoom (Zoom Video Communications) is a web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop client and a mobile app that allows users to meet online, with or without video. Use of the platform is free for video conferences of up to 100 participants, with a 40-minute time limit. Unlimited 1 to 1 meetings. For longer or larger conferences with more features, paid subscriptions are available, costing $15–20 per month.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Charlottesville City Council is adopting an ordinance to move its Public hearings online - to an electronic fashion during the local state of emergency.[1]
