Wyndhurst is one of Charlottesville's individually protected properties, meaning any exterior changes or potential demolition would have to be approved by the Board of Architectural Review. The house is located at 605 Preston Place[1].

Adjacent development

In September 2020, the Charlottesville Board of Architectural Review gave tentative support for a plan to develop a new apartment building on a sideyard. A previous plan to develop a 25-space parking lot was denied by the BAR the year before. [2]
