Winneba is a historic fishing town on Ghana's south coast, and one of Charlottesville's sister cities.

A delegation including Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris made a trip to Winneba in the spring of 2009, and a delegation of Winneba's city leaders traveled to Charlottesville that July. [1].

City Council voted to add Winneba as Charlottesville's fourth sister city in November 2009. [2].

The City made it official during a visit from dignataries on August 2, 2010[3]. A second delegation of 13 people from Charlottesville are currently visiting Winneba in early May 2011. [4]
