William R. Washington

Lieutenant Colonel William R. Washington was a resident of Crozet. He led the U.N. joint observer team for the Korean demilitarized zone in 1958, when a lone North Korean soldier attacked a U.N. military police shelter.[1] In 1983, he led the protest effort against the Albemarle County School Board's decision to close Greenwood School.
