Wild Virginia is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving wild forest ecosystems in Virginia’s national forests through education and advocacy.

These are our favorite places and we want to protect them for future generations.

History

The organization was founded in 1995 by students at the University of Virginia and local activists as the Shenandoah Ecosystems Defense Group (SEDG). The name was changed to Wild Virginia in 2003. [citation needed]
