The Board of Supervisors approved a rezoning for the development on January 4, 2006<ref>County View. Albemarle County. 6 July 2009 <http://www.albemarle.org>.</ref>. The request was to rezone 20.52 acres from Rural Area zoning to Neighborhood Model District zoning for a total of 107 residential units.
