WTJU is an FM free-form radio station licensed to the University of Virginia that operates on 91.1 FM. [1]
The station was founded in 1955 and began broadcasting in 1957.[2] Funds were put forward by the Kappa Delta Pi fraternity to help the Department of Speech and Drama get a radio station on the air.[2]
Long-time general manager Chuck Taylor retired at the end of 2009. [3]
