The station was founded in 1955 and began broadcasting in 1957. [1] Funds were put forward by the Kappa Delta Pi fraternity to help the Department of Speech and Drama get a radio station on the air. [citation needed]
Long-time general manager Chuck Taylor retired at the end of 2009. [2]
