The Virginia Institute of Autism (VIA) is a school for autistic children located in Charlottesville. VIA was opened by four parents in the winter of 1996 as a way of providing help for their children, who had been diagnosed with autism. In 2001, the school moved to its location on Westwood Road and operated from three buildings, as of 2011. VIA can provide services to up to thirty children at any time[1].

The school holds an annual 5K race to help race funds. In 2010, 576 participants helped raise over $50,000[2].
