The University of Virginia Historic District, located in Western Charlottesville, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and was added to the Virginia Register of Historic Places in 1970. This district includes many original buildings and grounds designed by Thomas Jefferson.
Note- All of the property in this district is owned by the State which means that the City does not have jurisdiction in this district.
