The University Diner operated as a restaurant on The Corner for 57 years until closing on May 24, 1985. [1]

A restaurant called Fig Bistro that would later occupy the same space brought back the signature "grillswith" dessert of two fried doughnuts with ice cream. [2]

The diner is memorialized on a historical plaque on the corner of Elliewood and University.
