The winery was opened in 1999 as Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyards by Patricia Kluge.[1] It closed in 2010, with no one willing to bid the opening $19 million price for the 907 acre property.[2]

Real estate mogul and television reality star Donald Trump has expressed interest in purchasing the property.[3] and Trump on October 4, 2011 celebrated the grand reopening of the winery, which was rebranded with his name.[4][5]
