Tim Heaphy is an attorney who lives in Charlottesville who has served in a variety of positions.

In August 2021, it was announced Heaphy would serve as chief investigative counsel for the Congressional investigation into the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. For that position he will take a leave of absence as counsel and senior assistant attorney general at the University of Virginia. [1]
