  • 1809Meriwether Lewis died in violent and mysterious circumstances at Grinder’s Stand near present-day Hohenwald, Tenn., about 70 mi from Nashville.
  • 1929Harry H. Gardiner, known as the "Human Fly", scaled the Monticello Hotel in an event sponsored by the American Legion.
  • 2023 – Invasive Plant Management and Control Measures using goats began at Fry’s Spring Park, approximately 40 goats to consume the unwanted vines and foliage.
