- 1932 – The Daily Progress news banners the dreadful news, “FOUND MURDERED IN WOODS NEAR SOURLAND HOME.” Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr. (born June 22, 1930), the 20-month-old son of aviators Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, was abducted from his crib in the upper floor of his parent’s Sourland Hills home the night of Mach 1st. At this time, Col. Lindbergh is the most admired man in America. It's the kind of sensational story that outrages all of America. Called the crime of the century, it's the first time the three pillars of the modern media - print journalism, radio, and newsreels, which later become television and digital media - all coming together.
