- 1901 – Virginia Constitutional Convention, 1901-1902: The convention meetings began and continued for over a year. J. H. Lindsay and W. H. Boaz represented Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville in the House of Delegates. The major question before the delegation was how to bring about African-American disfranchisement without technically violating the 14th and 15th amendments to the United States Constitution.
- 1908 – A Grand Rally and Reunion of Confederate veterans was held at Scottsville; over 2000 people gathered to greet the veterans.
