- 1900 – Virginia Constitutional Convention, 1901-1902: In a special session, the General Assembly passed the necessary legislation for the convention. 100 Delegates were selected based on representation in the House of Delegates; J. H. Lindsay and W. H. Boaz were elected to represent Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville.
- 2011 – Albemarle House was sold at a foreclosure auction to the Bank of America for $15.26 million shortly after former owner Patricia Kluge declared bankruptcy. In 20212, Real estate mogul and television reality star Donald Trump was able to negotiate a price of $6.5 million for the house, which is nearby Trump Winery.
