- 1812 – First meeting of Charlottesville Lodge No. 90; this Masonic Lodge was in active operation until March 31st, 1821.
- 1913 – A group of Charlottesville businessmen gathered at Timberlake’s to create the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce. Judge A. D. Dabney would become the first Chamber President.
- 1985 – An industrial fire at the Greenwood Chemical Company kills four works and leads to major investigation.
- 2011 – City Council voted to approve a request to have the Jefferson School listed as an individually protected property.
