The SoHo Technology Center is a planned mixed-use building on Roosevelt Brown Boulevard that is being developed by the Piedmont Development Group. A new site plan has been submitted to the city of Charlottesville in 2020 with more residences than originally projected. [1] The project did not need any further land use permits following Charlottesville's 2003 rezoning.

The original plan had been for mostly predominately office space with six residences on 9th Street. The new plan would increase the residential units to 24 and would cut the commercial space to about 11,000 square feet. Both projects are allowed by-right under the zoning, which is a special district created for the Cherry Avenue corridor. [2]
