SmartCville is a nonprofit organization that promotes the use of technology to drive innovation in local government and improve quality of life in cities.
In 2016-17, SmartCville collaborated with Charlottesville mayor Mike Signer to create an open data policy for the city. The organization has created a city budget visualization tool, and collected data on public comments made at City Council meetings.
The group worked with the city to hold a Civic Innovation Day on June 3, 2017. [1]
In September 2019, SmartCville launched the Center for Civic Innovation.[2]
