A shared-lane marking or sharrow[1] is a roadway marking installed within travel lanes shared by bicyclists and motor vehicles.

Charlottesville will add its first such markings to Water Street, and the city would like to expand shared-lane marking to other roadways where a bike lane can not be used. [2]
