The Sexual Assault Resource Agency, or SARA is the area's foremost institution providing sexual assault prevention education and support to survivors of sexual assault. It has been established for over 30 years and currently directly aids 1,000 people per year. SARA serves Charlottesville and Albemarle, as well as surrounding Nelson, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Greene Counties[1].

SARA also staffs a 24-hour sexual assault hotline.

Rebecca Weybright has been the executive director of the SARA since 2012. [2]
