  • 1927 – City Manager H.A. Yancey announces the city purchased property at the foot of Becks' Hill and Preston Avenue to reduce traffic crashes [1]
  • 1930Albemarle County School Superintendent A. L. Bennett announces water supply crisis in schools with many the water in many wells contaminated. [2]
  • 1933 – The water supply for Stanardsville is down to ten inches, possibly caused by a leaking pipe. [3]
  • 1959 – A tornado came through Ivy killing eleven people, including ten from one family. [4]
  • 1963Landon D. Birckhead filed a petition in Albemarle Circuit Court to divide the Charlottesville Magisterial District in half, to create a seventh member of the Board of Supervisors. [5]
  • 1963Charlottesville City Council holds meeting to give final approval on referendum for $3.5 million in bond sales for school construction for two junior high schools. [6]
  • 2020 – Effective resignation date for former city manager Tarron Richardson [7]
