Scottsville Sun was a newspaper that was published in Scottsville from October 1951 to 1969.[1] The paper was originally organized by Scottsville's Lions Club and was published by the Amherst Publishing Company. The paper's first editor was J. Bernard McDearman, while its first managing editor was Elizabeth Wimer. The paper maintained a circulation of roughly 500 to 1000 readers during its run and covered local news in addition to publishing columns on subjects such as politics, farming techniques, and housekeeping advice.[2]
