The Route 631 Corridor Study is an on-going investigation by the Virginia Department of Transportation to study long-term needs of the road known as Old Lynchburg Road and Fifth Street Extended. The scope is between Harris Street in Charlottesville and Ambrose Commons in Albemarle County.

VDOT has hired Kittleson & Associates to work on the project.

The first phase concluded in August 2019.

The second phase began in September 2019.

Preliminary results were shown to the Fifth and Avon Community Advisory Committee at their meeting on February 20, 2020. [1]
