Portions of what is now Roosevelt Brown Boulevard (at least the City expanded portions of the road between West Main Street and Cherry Avenue) were previously known as the “9th/10th Street Connector.”[1]

By resolution at their regular meeting on September 18, 2006, the 2006 City Council unanimously approved re-naming a road as the “Roosevelt Brown Boulevard”, in honor of Roosevelt Brown, an NFL Hall-of-Famer and Charlottesville hometown hero. The road was previously known as the 9th/10th Street Connector.[2]
