Rives Park is a 4.3 acre park located on the west side of Charlottesville. [1] New amenities were built in 2014. [citation needed]

Background
The city manager told the City Council in January 1954 that he had found a location for Little League baseball. [2] The city paid $2,250 for the property a month later. [3]
Rives Park is located on Rives Streeet between Florence and Monticello Roads. Features include half of a basketball cout, a picnic shelter, a playground and an athletic field. The park went through the master planning process in 2007 and 2008 and renovations began in January 2014 following a slight delay. [4]
