Omni Hotel

The Omni Hotel is a hotel anchoring the west end of Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. It was built on land that had been taken through eminent domain in the Vinegar Hill urban renewal. The hotel opened on May 1, 1985. [1]

Opening

The land was developed by the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority and sold to the firm Jefferson Court Associates. Built originally to be a Radisson Hotel, the facility opened as an Omni hotel after a partial interest was sold to Omni-Dunfey.
