  • 1902Charlottesville City Council votes 6-1 to allow the Morris Berger Carnival Company to use Market Street for a six-day event in November. City Councilor J. F. Harlan opposed the measure out of a concern that people had other things to spend money on with winter approaching and left the Council chamber before the final vote. [1]
  • 1933Charlottesville Planning Commission has a discussion of the city's street network including proposals for both east-west and north-south highway [2]
  • 1986Charlottesville City Council holds a public hearing on the five-year Capital Improvement Program of $26 million. Several speakers call for the addition of another nine holes at the Pen Park golf course. Council also holds a public hearing on a ban on phospates, a key pollutant in the Chespeake By watershed. [3]
