  • 1935 – Harvard President James B. Conant gives the opening convocation for the 113th academic year of the University of Virginia. [1]
  • 2001Charlottesville City Council holds a retreat in the SMARTROOM at 213 West Main Street. Among their accomplishments this year, Councilors listed establishment of the fare free trolley, adoption of the 2001 Comprehensive Plan, the commissioning of the Torti Gallas report on economic corridors, acquisition of the National Ground Intelligence Center building, and the yellow bikes program.
