On July 11, 2012, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors approved the development of the New Hope Community Church. The church is planned to be a 400-seat church with offices and classrooms. The site will also include a soccer field for athletic events. The board rejected an appeal from neighborhood opponents in May 2013.
