History
Murray High School is a charter high school that gets its name from Virginia L. Murray Elementary, where the school was originally based when founded in 1988. The school moved to its current location in 1990 and shares its site with the Enterprise Center and the Albemarle Resource Center (ARC).[1] One of four Virginia charter schools, Murray became the first public Glasser Quality High School in 2001. William Glasser was an educator and psychologist who believed strongly that the most productive schools would be those in which students and educators maintained a "relationship built on trust and respect." To this end Murray teaches material to mastery, and emphasizes a stress-free learning atmosphere and close student-teacher relationships.[2]
There were 26 graduates in the class of 2018. [3]
