Delegate Mitch Van Yahres (D-57th) launches one of his many campaigns for re-election to the Virginia General Assembly

Democrat Mitch Van Yahres served as Mayor of Charlottesville from 1970 to 1972. He also represented Charlottesville and parts of Albemarle County for over two dozen years in the General Assembly as the Delegate from the 57th House District.

During his campaign for Council in 1968, Van Yahres ran on a platform to increase fair housing[1].
