Michael Farruggio is a police officer with the Charlottesville Police Department, and a member of the Charlottesville Planning Commission. He also sits on the PACC-Tech, the Eastern Connector Location Study Steering Committee, and the Meadowcreek Parkway Interchange Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.

He was appointed to the Planning Commission in October 2005, and his term expires on August 31, 2009. Farruggio said he is stepping down in order to spend more time with his young children[1].
