Project Details

The project is currently one of three road constructions projects that are currently accruing funds from the Virginia Department of Transportation's secondary road funding mechanism. It is planned to be a 1.3 mile long Meadow Creek Parkway, running from Melbourne Road to Route 631 – Rio Road.

History

The Virginia Department of Transportation held an open design public hearing on March 20, 2003. 5 – 7 p.m. This is the second phase of the Meadowcreek Parkway Project. It runs north around the Charlottesville High School athletic facilities and continues parallel with the railroad tracks. After crossing Meadow Creek, the road shifts to the east around the Charlottesville-Albemarle Technical School (CATEC) and joins the existing Rio Road.
