- 1895: Municipal elections held in Charlottesville. [1] At the time the city had four wards but all four Councilors were unopposed in this election.
- 1931: The University of Virginia Board of Visitors appoints John L. Newcomb as acting president following the death of Edwin A. Alderman. [2]
- 1961: Charlottesville voters went to the polls in a referendum to determine whether an area town known as Cox's Row should be used as a public housing site by the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. [3]
- 2016: Alfred S. Thomas Jr sworn in as Charlottesville Police Chief [4]
