Maupin M. Pence was Albemarle County Executive from July 1, 1953 to March 31, 1965.[1]

Pence was County Executive when the Garnett Dam was built to create the Beaver Creek Reservoir. Beaver Creek provides public drinking water to the Crozet community.


Maupin Pence Memorial Award

The Phi Society at the University of Virginia awards this honor upon one undergraduate member who has demonstrated academic excellence. Pence was a long time chapter advisor to the Fraternity in the 1950s and 1960s[2].
