Mary McIntyre was a candidate in the 2017 election for the Albemarle County School Board. She currently is a teacher in Albemarle County.
McIntyre moved to Albemarle County in 2016 with her husband and two children, who attend Woodbrook Elementary School. She worked at Agnor-Hurt Elementary School for a year as a part-time literacy instructor.[1]
McIntyre has taught at public schools in North Carolina, Hawaii and Virginia, and at a Department of Defense Dependent School in Germany. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and the University of Michigan, respectively. In 2017 she earned a master’s degree in curriculum studies for literacy specialists from the University of Hawaii-Manoa.[2]
