Marvin Henry Hilton died on April 25, 2010[1], just a few months after being appointed to represent the Samuel Miller Magisterial District on the Albemarle County Service Authority's Board of Directors. He was appointed in January 2010 by Supervisor Duane Snow[2].

Biography

Hilton was born on October 19, 1932 in Lynchburg, Virginia. After serving in the Korean War, he attended the University of Virginia and received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1959. He added a Master of Civil Engineering from UVA in 1966. He is also a former president of the Senior Statesmen of Virginia. Hilton taught in UVA's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) from 1977 to 1989 and again in the spring of 1992. He was also a senior research scientist at the Virginia Transportation Research Council[3].

Hilton also served on the Meadowcreek Parkway Design Committee. [4]
