Market Street Parking Garage

The Market Street Parking Garage is a parking garage built in 1975[1] on Market Street that includes other office and retail space on NE Fifth Street and the 500 block of East Main Street.

It is fully owned by the City of Charlottesville and operated by the Charlottesville Parking Center. [2] The contract is managed by the city's Office of Economic Development. [3]

Tenants

In addition to the parking garage, the structure contains many commercial units as well as CitySpace.


Upgrade of equipment

The equipment used to collect money from motorists was replaced in 2011 at a cost of $187,500. [3] Customers can now use credit cards to pay.
