- 1700 – Daniel Maupin Sr. is born either in London, England during a port of call on his parents' journey to North America or upon their arrival in York County in eastern Virginia. An early inhabitant of Albemarle County, Maupin owned much of the land that later became White Hall and was the progenitor of the area's famous Maupin family.
