The Maplewood Cemetery was established as the town of Charlottesville's first official resting place for the dead in 1827.The cemetery is a few blocks north of downtown, and located on Maple Avenue near Martha Jefferson Hospital. The land is owned by the city of Charlottesville. Prominent people buried there include Paul Goodloe McIntire[1].
