Louisa County is a member of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District. Louisa's population increased by nearly 30 percent between 2000 and 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. [1]

The Weldon Cooper Center estimated the population as 34,316 on July 1, 2016. [2]

Local Government

Louisa is governed by a seven-board member Board of Supervisors, each of whom is elected to represent a magisterial district. The county administrator is Christian R. Goodson.
