Literacy Volunteers Charlottesville/Albemarle (LVCA) addresses low literacy and undereducation among adults in the region through free, individualized reading, writing and English language instruction. LVCA was founded in 1983 and is located in the Jefferson School City Center[1].

In addition to one-to-one literacy tutoring, Literacy Volunteers offers citizenship classes.
