The Lincoln Cemetery is owned by the J. F. Bell Funeral Home, Inc. of Charlottesville, Virginia. This 3.9 acre historic burial ground is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. The cemetery is enclosed by a stone fence to the north and woods to the south. There are several hundred burials here, representing a diverse selection of gravestone motifs and forms.[1]

Lincoln Cemetery is adjacent to the Union Ridge Church Cemetery.

Funding for black cemeteries

Passed unanimously, House Bill 1547 was written to provide funding to two Richmond-area cemeteries.[2]

2017 SESSION, HB 1547 Historical African American cemeteries/graves; disbursement of funds appropriated for preservation. Introduced by: Delores L. McQuinn; HB 1547 Historical African American cemeteries/graves; disbursement of funds appropriated for preservation.

2017 SESSION Historical African American cemeteries and graves. Directs the distribution of funds appropriated for such purpose to qualifying charitable organizations that preserve historical African American cemeteries established before 1900. The funding formula is $5, or the average actual cost of routine maintenance, multiplied by the number of graves, monuments, and markers of African Americans who lived at any time between 1800 and 1900 and are interred in the cemetery. The bill lists two cemeteries, East End Cemetery in Henrico County and Evergreen Cemetery in the City of Richmond, that are to receive any funds appropriated for a total of 6,975 gravesites.[3]
