Leonard Sandridge

Leonard Sandridge is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the University of Virginia. In that capacity, he also serves as chief financial officer of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia[1]. He is stepping down from the position on July 1, 2011. In May 2011, UVa President Teresa Sullivan named Michael Strine as new University's Executive VP and COO[2]. When Sandridge is replaced, his job responsibilities will be split between two positions, and President Sullivan will assume other duties, such as supervision of UVA athletics[3]. Sandridge will remain employed by U.Va as a part-time advisor. [4]

He began working for the University in 1967. [4]

Awards

In 2003, Sandridge received the Paul Goodloe McIntire Citizenship Award from the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce[citation needed].
