Kenny Leatherwood was named as interim principal of Charlottesville High School on November 20, 2023.[1] He has been hired at least once before to serve as a replacement leader following resignations or other quick absences. Leatherwood will begin working at the high school immediately following the Thanksgiving Break.[1]

Biography

Leatherwood was appointed as interim principal of Venable Elementary School after the abrupt resignation of Jamie Mathieson[2].

Leatherwood began work for the city school system in 1977, and has previously served as a principal of Charlottesville High School. Before taking over at Venable, he served as a coordinator of human resources in the division’s Central Office[2].
