John Edward Hall ran for the Charlottesville City Council as an independent candidate in the November 2017 general election. [1] He placed sixth. [2]

He was briefly a candidate in 2019 but dropped out. [3] [4]

Biography

Hall, a design engineer, moved to Charlottesville in 2000 to work in the hematology lab at the University of Virginia. He is a native of Winchester.

In June 2003, he asked Council to appoint him as a security guard and stated that he had been discriminated against because of his mental disability. [5] In September of that year he proposed a new city logo. [6]

Hall was briefly a candidate as an independent for one of three seats on the Charlottesville City Council. [3]
