John C. Blair, II started his service in the City of Charlottesville as City Attorney on August 15, 2018. On the City of Charlottesville's website, Interim City Manager Mike Murphy announces the appointment of John C. Blair as Charlottesville City Attorney at 08/01/2018 11:44 AM.[1] The City Attorney a staff position of the City of Charlottesville within the Office of the Charlottesville City Attorney.

Blair, age 40, was most recently Deputy County Attorney for Albemarle County, VA. During 2013 to 2018 he represented numerous departments and commissions including the Albemarle Police and Fire Departments, Human Resources, the Planning Commission, Economic Development, and the School Board.[2]

Previously Blair was Albemarle County's Senior Assistant County Attorney. Blair also serves as attorney to the Albemarle County School Board[3].

Blair is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. His undergraduate degree is also from the University of Virginia in History.[4]

Blair's career also includes service in Spotsylvania County as Assistant County Attorney and Deputy County Attorney, in Dinwiddie County as County Attorney, in the City of Danville as Assistant City Attorney, and in the City of Roanoke as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney.[5]
