Jennifer J. Brown served for 19 years as Charlottesville's city treasurer on November 3, 2010[1].

Brown was first elected in 1993 and is a member of the Treasurer's Association of Virginia. She was awarded the 2006 Treasurer of the Year by the association. [1]

Retirement

Brown retired from the position on October 1, 2012 because of health issues. [2] She moved to Charlottesville in 1971 and took a job as an auditor in the Commissioner of Revenue's office. Then she worked in the city's purchasing department before her election in 1993.
